    Being part of the mission of TMA Foundation enables life-changing programs to reach individuals across the state. These include scholarships, vaccines and vaccine education, bike helmets, health education books and more. Whether you donate to support these programs or volunteer to carry them out, please join us in addressing the new challenges 2024 will bring to TMA’s vision of improving the health of ALL Texans.

    The New Year is off to a strong start with TMA Foundation grants to five TMA programs and one TMA Alliance program:


    All programs funded by TMAF are developed and carried out by TMA and TMAA members in collaboration with community organizations that are passionate about improving the health of all Texans. Learn more.

  • TMAF Grants Improve the Health of Your Community and Physician Wellness

    Outreach

    Applications for community grants open in May. Eligible applicants include TMA county medical societies and alliance and medical student chapters. Since 1998, foundation grants have helped medicine lead initiatives that address local health concerns such as access to care, prevention, education and more. Since 2020, these grants also have helped more than 1,000 physicians through health and wellness programming. Application deadlines are July 31 and Nov. 15. Learn more.

  • Not Sold Out Yet! Join Us for the 31st Gala!

    TMAF’s 31st annual gala on May 3 at the Dallas Convention Center is co-chaired by Drs. Donna Casey and Gary Weinstein, Drs. Roger Khetan and Thomas Heil, and Drs. Rainer and Anita Khetan all of Dallas. Wonderland will feature designs and décor inspired by Lewis Carroll’s classic story Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and highlight the visionary work of Texas physicians to create a healthier Texas. The event is held in conjunction with TMA’s annual meeting, TexMed, in Dallas. Please purchase your ticket or table today!

    Thanks to top sponsor, H-E-B and other sponsors for helping to make this celebration of collaborative health improvement possible. Individuals may purchase regular tickets for $300 each or special VIP tickets for $350. These may be purchased through April 25 (prices increase on April 16). Individuals may sponsor a table of eight for $2,750. Individuals and institutions may sponsor at table from $3,500 to $50,000. See you in Dallas!

  • 2023 Annual Report Preview

    An estimated $1,031,128 was raised, exceeding the goal by 16 percent. TMAF approved $848,340 in grants to 45 programs, an increase of nearly 7 percent from the $796,045 granted for 36 programs in 2022. Among those grants were 38 scholarships (up 8 over 2022) totaling $314,380. Twenty-five of the 38 are $10,000 each with 17 to the TMA Diversity in Medicine Scholarships and 8 for alliance chapter nursing scholarships. The remaining 13 are mostly matching scholarships that range from $750 to $5,000 and were awarded to county medical societies and alliance chapters that have their own medical student scholarship program. The full 2023 TMAF Annual Report will be emailed and posted on the TMAF website in June!
