Are you a Texas medical student about to enter your third or fourth year of school?
Could you use a $10,000 scholarship next year?
If you answered yes to both of those questions, you should know that the Texas Medical Liability Trust (TMLT) will award one $10,000 scholarship in August to a Texas medical student.
The intention of TMLT's scholarship is to recognize medical students who are interested in finding creative and effective ways to enhance patient safety. Candidates must be attending a medical school in Texas and be in his or her third or fourth year, and will be chosen based on financial need and an essay on patient safety.
To apply, students should submit:
- A completed application (incomplete applications will not be considered);
- A statement of financial need; and
- A short essay (no more than 500 words) describing the risk management considerations for a closed claim study provided with the application.
The deadline to apply is July 1. Winners will be announced in August.
Entries will be judged by the TMLT Business Development Committee, a group comprising Texas physicians.
Find more information on the TMLT website.
