Today: Ask the Expert About Protecting Your Online Reputation

The social media world can be a confusing place for many small businesses, and especially for medical practices. A good social media strategy engages patients while also zealously guarding their protected health information (PHI). Use of social media is an effective way to promote your practice – when you control the conversation.

To learn about the Do’s and Don’ts of social media, grab some lunch and tune in to the next edition of the Texas Medical Association’s Ask the Expert series on June 1 at noon (CT).

Leading this free, half-hour session via Zoom will be Jennifer Rios, TMA director of digital communication, and Reid Wittliff, attorney at Wittliff and Cutter, LLC, of Austin. They will discuss:

  • What to do if a patient writes a negative review on Yelp or other platform;
  • Practical tips to be in charge of your practice’s social media;
  • Best practices for a professional appearance; and
  • Legal implications of disclosing PHI, and adhering to HIPAA standards.

Join an interactive question-and-answer session with our experts following the presentation. You also can submit questions ahead of time via email.
