Several of the Texas Medical Association’s special interest sections are accepting nominations for annual section awards. Feb. 20 is the deadline to nominate candidates for the following annual honors:
- Resident and Fellow Section – The J.T. “Lamar” McNew, MD, Award is given to a TMA member physician who has provided outstanding service to the Resident and Fellow Section.
- Young Physician Section – The Young at Heart Award goes to a TMA member physician who has given exceptional guidance and support to the section or to young physicians in general.
- International Medical Graduate (IMG) Section – This section’s Outstanding Physician Award goes to a TMA-IMG physician member who has provided outstanding service outside his or her practice to the medical community in which the physician lives and/or works.
Call for AMA-YPS Alternate Delegates
There are four open positions for alternate delegates to the American Medical Association Young Physician Section (AMA-YPS). Interested candidates must be members of AMA and be willing to attend AMA-YPS interim and annual meetings. Email a letter of interest or questions to Melanie Fossett.
