Do you want to be more of a leader within your community, in your practice, in Texas medicine?
How confident are you in your management, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills?
Do you think you can help develop better state laws, but you don’t know where to start?
If you’ve been looking for ways to grow as a physician or as a leader, start by tapping into the resources already available to you as a Texas Medical Association member.
Your options are limited only by how much time and effort you want to put in. And, thankfully, TMA has made it easy to get involved.
TMA has numerous boards, councils, and committees — ranging from health promotion to child and adolescent health — that would benefit from your knowledge and expertise.
Learn to be more of a leader at TMA’s multiple workshops and training sessions, and take advantage of opportunities to serve medicine at the county, state, and national levels.
If you want to get involved in state politics — as well as learn how to speak with confidence on important issues — plan to attend First Tuesdays at the Capitol, TMA’s grassroots advocacy training held four times during legislative sessions. TMA will ensure you become well-versed in the issues facing medicine in the 2019 Texas Legislature, and help you inform your senator, representative, and their aides about how they can help.
As a TMA member, you can also take advantage of FREE continuing medical education for professional growth. For example, learn how to establish trust, maintain professionalism, and create a culture of safety and respect through the Behavioral Health Issues, Disruptive Behavior, and Professionalism course.
However you wish to grow, TMA is here to help you take the next step in your career.
