Quality Payment Program (QPP) Performance Year 2019 Ends
The QPP MIPS Performance Year begins on Jan. 1 and ends on Dec. 31 each year. The full 2019 performance period is Jan. 1- Dec. 31, 2019, but not all categories require 12 months of data collection. Performance is measured through the data clinicians report in four categories: Quality, Improvement Activities, Promoting Interoperability, and Cost.

Payment adjustments based on this performance period will be made in 2021. If you are eligible to participate and do not report data for the 2019 performance period, you will receive a negative 7% payment adjustment/penalty to your Medicare payments.

Physicians required to participate in the 2019 QPP must submit data to CMS by March 31, 2020.
